SUGGESTION: Why not give stock frame & stock clip cars a 100 pound weight incentive? Example: stock clip w/open motor @3,000 pounds and tube clip (5" springs) w/ open motor @ 3,100 pounds. Stock clip w/ crate 602 @ 2,900 pounds and tube clip (5" springs) w/crate 602 @ 3,000 pounds.

I had a few competitors contact me about two different things. 1.)Schoenfeld or IMCA style mufflers that run at other tracks. Those that were at the meeting heard me state that all cars that raced this year are legal for next year. Two of the competitors have these mufflers. 2.)A competitor asked about fluid dampers, as they feel they are safer, and have seen and experienced the stock ones coming apart.
Thoughts on the fluid dampers?

A competitor asked about fluid dampers, as they feel they are safer, and have seen and experienced the stock ones coming apart. Thoughts on the fluid dampers? Personally, I do not see them as an advantage. I believe they are meant to help with longevity of racing engines turning much higher RPM's than the static balancers were ever designed for. As long as it is still steel, shouldn't be a problem.

Two of the competitors have these mufflers. Two of the current cars are audibly louder than the rest. Are those the two running the previously illegal IMCA style mufflers? Hate to see the track get noise complaints if it gets out of hand.

Those that were at the meeting heard me state that all cars that raced this year are legal for next year. Also heard at the meeting was that your research revealed that "truck arms" have a substantial advantage over 3-link suspension.... and, I would assume, surely over stock 4-link or leaf spring style suspensions. Yet, it appears no concession is being made to keep the advantage to a minimum and continue to encourage the stock style cars to participate. That is why I suggested the 100 pound weight incentive for stock clip cars.

Don't recall hearing or saying that, but the car that won the most and the championship is a stock clip and setup. The variety of suspensions have been competitive with the others in the class.

I thought at the meeting it was agreed that minimum wheelbase would be 107" not 104". also truck arm and late model style chassis when set up right do have a significant advantage, adding weight or changes to percentages , engine was discussed as possible equalizers if said chassis did show an advantage ?

After further investigating the chassis in question, the cars have a minimum of 104. Yes we will be monitoring the chassis and their lap times, and adjust as needed if we see any advantages to become a dominant car. Starting with the weights and percentages will be where we go first. This year's data shows that these cars were equal to the stock clip type chassis. It is stated in the rules that we have the ability to change the percentages and weights if needed. That was to cover all competitors involved

rule #6 > 6.5 Original cross member may be replaced with square tubing or heavy wall thickness tubing. rule #2 Rear cross member maybe replaced if rusted, but must remain in stock configuration. which rule is it you intend to follow ??

Redundant. You got me on that one. The last line of rule 2 needs to go pertaining to the cross member. Funny thing, we didn't pick up on that screw up in this year;s rules. LOL
